Sorry folks, I promised noon, but it is passed that time. I had some issues with my helpers then I was sent on a mission from God…actually the Commish just needed me so we could figure out how to have the PGF website have the individual standings updated real time. Oh, he also added real-time team points as well.
But you’re here for some fantasy analysis, so let’s get to it…
SUPER PREMIUMS (you’re going to have to offset the expense with budget players)
Kris Olivo (Alabama Twisters) – $1225 – John Chandler (Tropic Thunders) (BREAK), Brady Branscum (Dollamur) (BREAK), Anthony Gojani (New Hope Kings)(BREAK) – 9 Points. Olivo said he was at best 60% last week. Well, it’s probably because he cut so much weight. He’s had a week to recuperate and we should see a 100% Olivo. He’s facing some of the lower draft picks – it’s his time to put up some numbers.
Raphael Ferreira (Alabama Twisters) – $1200 faces Nick Sahf (Tropic Thunders)(BREAK), Spenser Ortiz (Dollamur)(BREAK), Juan Martinez v (New Hope Kings)(BREAK) – 9 points. Rafa is on a roll and he’s not stopping. He’ll probably score at least one more money bag as well.
Jett Thompson (New Hope Kings) – $1175 faces Christos Papadelos (Dollamur)(DRAW), Joseph Bowers (Tropic Thunders)(BREAK), Brady Hylton (Alabama Twisters)(KILL) – 9 points.
Zack Schneider (Tropic Thunders) – $1150 faces Brady Hylton (Alabama Twisters)(KILL), Dominic Lobo (New Hope Kings)(KILL), Brady Branscum (Dollamur)(KILL) – 18 points. Okay, if you saw the Behind the Scenes interaction between Zack and his daughter, you have to cheer for him (the backflip in week one helps as well). Schneider is a cagey vet who definitely knows how to take folks’ backs and choke them out. He’s likely to do it three times today.
Mike John (Dollamur) – $1125 (OUT/IR) faces Dominic Lobo (New Hope Kings), Raphael Ferreira (Alabama Twisters), CJ Murdock (Tropic Thunders). He’s injured.
Anthony Molina Valdes (New Hope Kings) – $1100 faces Landon Elmore (Dollamur)(DRAW), John Chandler (Tropic Thunders)(BREAK), Matthew Masch (Alabama Twisters)(BREAK) – 7 points. Elmore and Molina Valdes are two of the best leg lockers this season. It will be a fun shootout that could go either way, so it’s a draw for planning purposes. Masch might get the sub, but Molina Valdes is very hot right now so he gets the nod.
Christos Papadelos (Dollamur) – $1100 faces Jett Thompson (New Hope Kings)(DRAW), Jordan Wirth (Alabama Twisters)(BREAK), John Chandler (Tropic Thunders)(BREAK) – 6 points. Christos is showing why he went for so much at the draft. Expect to see multiple submissions from him every week this season. He actually has a fair chance to get one on Jett, but since his teammate Davis Asare couldn’t seal the deal, we’ll call it a draw.
Average – (the players who fill your roster almost exactly on budget)
JJ Bowers (Tropic Thunders) – $1050 faces Matthew Masch (Alabama Twisters)(LOSS), Jett Thompson (New Hope Kings)(LOSS), Derek Rayfield (Dollamur)(LOSS) – 0 points. I’m a huge fan of JJ, but this is a murderer’s row of opponents. He might not lose all of these matches, but it’s unlikely he’ll be putting up any points this week.
Matt Masch (Alabama Twisters) – $1025 faces JJ Bowers (Tropic Thunders)(BREAK), Derek Rayfield (Dollamur)(BREAK), Anthony Molina Valdes (New Hope Kings)(LOSS). Masch got JJ with an aoki lock at CJJ Worlds, so he’ll probably go back to the well. Rayfield has a lot of experience at CJJ Worlds, but Masch is the current champ.
Jordan Wirth (Alabama Twisters) – $950 faces CJ Murdock (Tropic Thunders)(KILL), Christos Papadelos (Dollamur)(LOSS), Dominic Lobo (New Hope Kings)(KILL) – 12 points. CJ got the win at the Vegas qualifier and Wirth really wants to get that back. I think he pulls out something funky. Wirth just has more time with the unorthodox stuff, including the rubber guard than Lobo does. I think the elder rubber guardian gets the win (hahaha, I said rubber guardian).
CJ Murdock (Tropic Thunders) – $950 faces Jordan Wirth (Alabama Twisters)(LOSS), Juan Martinez V (New Hope Kings)(BREAK), Spenser Ortiz (Dollamur)(KILL) – 9 points. CJ isn’t old. Egghead never said CJ was old. Egghead reminds everyone that 36 is the new 21.
BUDGET PLAYERS (possible bargains that can help you save money for those premium players)
Juan Martinez V (New Hope Kings) – $925 faces Brady Branscum (Dollamur)(BREAK), CJ Murdock (Tropic Thunders)(LOSS), Raphael Ferreira (Alabama Twisters)(LOSS) – 0 Points. Huge fan of Juan Martinez V, but he’s going to have to put some points on the board before you put him on your fantasy team.
Dom Lobo (New Hope Kings) – $925 faces Spenser Ortiz (Dollamur)(KILL), Zack Schneider (Tropic Thunders)(LOSS), Jordan Wirth (Alabama Twisters)(LOSS) – 6 points. Egghead might still be underestimating this young man, but it’s highly likely he’ll put up at least 6 points today.
Derek Rayfield (Dollamur) – $925 faces Anthony Gojani (New Hope Kings)(KILL), Matthew Masch (Alabama Twisters)(LOSS), CJ Murdock (Tropic Thunders)(KILL) – The players haven’t prepared for Rayfield and he’s a great competitor. – 12 points. He’s going to be able to sneak up on some people.
Landon Elmore (Dollamur) – $910 faces Anthony Molina Valdes (New Hope Kings)(DRAW), Brady Hylton (Alabama Twisters)(BREAK), Nick Sahf (Tropic Thunders)(BREAK) – 6 points. Elmore reminds Egghead a lot of Kevin Beuhring from seasons 3 and 6. He’s a very dangerous leg locker. He’s taking home some feetsies tonight.
PENNY STOCKS (NOT LIKELY TO MAKE YOU MUCH, BUT IF YOU HAVE MONEY LEFT IN YOUR POCKET…)
Anthony Gojani (New Hope Kings) – $850 faces Derek Rayfield (Dollamur)(LOSS), Nick Sahf (Tropic Thunders)(LOSS), Kristian Olivo (Alabama Twisters)(LOSS) – 0 points. No analysis here, just wanted to make Gojani mad.
John Chandler (Tropic Thunders) – $800 faces Kristian Olivo (Alabama Twisters)(LOSS), Anthony Molina Valdes (New Hope Kings)(LOSS), Christos Papadelos (Dollamur)(LOSS). The word is out on the street. Don’t try to strangle Chandler, it won’t work. Everyone is going to try to leg lock Chandler and he’s facing some of the best leg lockers on the roster this week. Tap early John, be able to walk so you can fight next week.
Spenser Ortiz(Dollamur) – $800 faces Dominic Lobo (New Hope Kings)(LOSS), Raphael Ferreira (Alabama Twisters)(LOSS), JJ Bowers (Tropic Thunders)(LOSS) – 0 points. A very exciting wrestler from 10th Planet Las Vegas, Ortiz should be very fun to watch. But Egghead hasn’t seen enough high-level tape on Ortiz to make him worth a roster spot. Plus he’s facing two of the top picks from the draft this week. Welcome aboard, Spenser.
Nick Sahf (Tropic Thunders) – $775 faces Raphael Ferreira (Alabama Twisters)(LOSS), Anthony Gojani (New Hope Kings)(BREAK), Landon Elmore (Dollamur)(LOSS) – 3 points. A veteran of PGF Season 4, Sahf gets the leg lock on Gojani, but get’s broken by Ferreira and Elmore. This is what you wished for, Nick.
Brady Branscum (Dollamur) – $750 faces Juan Martinez V (New Hope Kings)(LOSS), Kristian Olivo (Alabama Twisters)(LOSS), Zack Schneider (Tropic Thunders)(LOSS) – Egghead still thinks Branscum’s style could make him a sleeper pick for a penny stock, but he hasn’t paid off yet.
Brady Hylton (Alabama Twisters) – $725 faces Zack Schneider (Tropic Thunders)(LOSS), Landon Elmore (Dollamur)(LOSS), Jett Thompson (New Hope Kings)(LOSS) – 0 points. Brady was subbed by every opponent last week. Now he’s facing much tougher competition. The results will likely be the same. Brady’s a really great guy, though.
