About

I’m a creator, journalist, writer.

Back when the buffalo roamed the plains, and I was in high school, I was a journalist. I covered sports and wrote commentary pieces. In college, I left behind journalism for computer engineering and business in the form of management information systems…with the occasional letter to the editor or fun essay in a humanities class. After college, I hit law school where my writing was mostly limited to motions or other legal stuff (not a lot of fun). As a practicing attorney, I did write a weekly article for a newspaper on legal issues for about one year, trying to give helpful, preventative law information. Fast forward a number of years and when COVID hit, Brandon Mccaghren debuted his Professional Grappling Federation (PGF). It was a live, weekly jiu jitsu league on YouTube with a community forming in the live chat and a fantasy league. I was a fantasy football fan and an avid grappler so fantasy PGF was right up my alley. I’d carefully go over the roster and schedule and start making my estimations of how matches would go and decide how to put together my roster. I’d listen to Walo, Miggy, and Chris on the McDojo Show as they made their pics. Well, after a few weeks, I realized I was kinda writing articles, or at least analysis, so I started this blog to share it with the other PGF fans. These posts led to more articles, then joining the McDojo Show, which is also called the PGF Insiders now, and I’ve branched more into competitor profile pieces and other PGF news articles. I don’t know where this endeavor is going. But this (as my son calls it) “midlife crisis” is a ton of fun. I hope to continue covering the PGF and looking to branching out to other promotions, or possibly other interests of mine on my blog. Of note, I have a Creative Commons approach to my posts on the PGF. Feel free to copy them and distribute, I really want to help the PGF grow (but please give me a credit when you distribute).

Oh, you’re wondering why “Egghead Warrior”? Well, a buddy of mine was considering what my real life job entailed. He thought about it and said I was an “Egghead Warrior.” So I use that as my pseudonym.
